St. George Ironman

Jake Joines, founder of J2 Construction, is captain of the”Pro Runner Escort Team” for the St. George US Pro Championship 70.3 Ironman race. This team of volunteers (riding mountain bikes) is responsible for leading the first 3 male and female Professional Athletes thru the run portion of the race to the finish line.

Ironman returns to St. George for its fourth year – this time with the Ironman 70.3 US Pro Championship competition.   St. George appeals to Ironman triathletes and this year’s race promises to have the world’s best athletes in attendance.  Registration opened for the Ironman 70.3 St. George on June 6, 2012, with 2,500 competitor slots available. As of today the race is sold out.  By January 2013 this race had 1,015 registrants from Utah,  California 455, Colorado 160, Arizona 149, Nevada 121, Texas and Washington each 41. And athletes are again coming from around the world: 60 are registered from Canada, 58 from Mexico, 8 from the United Kingdom, 5 from Germany and 4 from Australia.”
